Khora is a humanitarian co-operative foundation created in response to the humanitarian crisis affecting those forced from their homes throughout the middle east by war, poverty, and climate change. The full-time volunteers at this special place work tirelessly to prepare and serve over 1,000 meals a day, teach language and basic education classes, lead skill-building workshops, and provide childcare, legal advice, and dental care to the many displaced people living in Athens.
In coordination with a series of events happening around the world this fall to celebrate Khora's one year anniversary, this New York fundraiser raised money toward the purchase of a piano and other educational equipment for the center.
Thanks to the tremendous generosity of concert attendees, we raised enough money to purchase a piano for Khora Athens! Here it is being tested by on-site music teacher and volunteer Ryan Faulkner who procured the instrument just a few days before the holidays.
